About Us
In today's world it takes more than just premium quality products to do the job. It takes experience, high quality service, and a team that will go the extra mile to ensure the success of your project.
Since 1942 Martin's Native Lumber has worked hard to make sure that your project is treated as if it were our own going into our own home, farm, or business. Our dedication to service is what sets us apart. Our staff has a vast array of tips, information, and down to earth building principles to ensure that whatever you build will be successful.
So whether you're a contractor looking for the best value in town, a farmer searching for a reliable agriculture based company for all your farm, building, and fencing needs, or a "do it your selfer" working on a weekend project, we are the place to go! We're located off of route 257, west of Dayton, on Lumber Mill Road.
"We're off the beaten path, but well worth the scenic drive."
For 74 years Martin's Native Lumber Inc., has been family owned and operated. John Martin started the company as a planing, milling, and blacksmith shop in 1942. As the simple shop grew to a larger business, his son Ken Martin, along with his wife Grace Martin, returned to work with John and eventually bought the business in 1984.
In 1988 the company and family faced a tragedy when the office and mill burned. The building and most of the contents were a total loss. Ken and Grace were overwhelmed with the support of dedicated employees, the community, and friends. The staff set up a temporary office in Ken and Grace's garage and the first sale was made at 8 a.m. the morning after the fire. A new mill and office was built within a matter of 4 weeks and was fully operational after a few short months.
Today our family is proud to still be in the same business nearly 80 years later and look forward to taking the company into its 100th year in business.
